Lately I've thought a lot about shopping or rather, not shopping. I really am a consumer at heart but I'm also at a stage where I don't want to spend money on a whim or fleeting trends or ignore the environmental impact of throwaway fashion. I'm much more interested in adding pieces that I'll continue to wear years from now. My biggest "fashion victim" big ticket purchase is my Alexander Wang Rocco bag, but even though it's trendy, I love it and imagine that I will continue to carry it long after it's cool factor has expired. Don't get me wrong, it's not like I'll never make another trendy purchase again but my focus is on my essentials.
